No sound - red X- after CPU upgrade
ASRock, I9-9900, GTX 1650, Win10
I upgraded my CPU from an I3-9100 to an I9-9900. After i did this, i started to get the red x on the speaker, in taskbar.
I have an issue with the high definition audio controller, and it states no speakers or headphones plugged in
i show NVIDIA high definition audio and Nvidia virtual audio device under sound video game controller
when i go to sounds in control panel, it shows nvidia output (3 times) and they are all three greyed out.
I had/have my headphones plugged into the port on the top of the tower in the front.
i upgraded my graphics driver, to no avail. i tried to download the realtek driver, but it didnt do anything
when i try to update the driver for the sound card, the real tek driver doesnt show (manually select)
Any assistance would be appreciated
EDIT: in system devices, i have two high definition audio controllers. The first one, has the yellow triangle, and has this note:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API.
