I agree. These young people write articles saying you don't need a sound card. Yea right. They listen to low bitrate 128kbps MP3 on there cheap white apple earbuds and $30 bluetooth speakers. I try to use onboard but I always end up getting a sound card anyway and I notice a difference.

this is getting a bit off topic now.

The description of this thread is latest realtek hd audio driver version.

not creative drivers, keygens etc. Please start a new thread to discuss other soundcard drivers.

I think the reason why you didn't find anything is that the ones listed on that page may be 32-bit drivers. 64-bit ones are usually over 100Mb in size.
    I thought AMD64 was 64-bit

Hello all im new to these forums
I have a issue of sorts.
    I have Windows 10 1607 anaversary
    I have a gigabyte z270 wich has
Realtec audio with creative x-fi mb5 control panel.
Inside the realtec control panel I can only adjust default format, speaker calibration 3 tabs .
You use the creative xfi mb5 software to
    Adjust
    Eq,sounds,around,eax, ect ect
    This is with gigabytes provided
Mobo driver dated January and no new updates since .
There drivers for both work fine and dandy .

I thought let's update manualy threw device manager aka let me pick I have a disk method .
Once i instal new realtec drivers I instead of just 3 tabs and no eq i have the eq and everything on realtec
    Awesome! Sounds cleaner as well

Problem: I don't have scout mode or voice mic options like xfi mb5 had .
I reinstal xfi mb5 on top of new realtec and says no device found.

So is my microphone options not showing up on the new divers because it's not pluged in ?

Debating on using the new drivers + built in realtecs eq ect
    Vs
    Older gigabyte/realtec/xfimb5 older drivers ....

Thing is scout mode makes far away foot steps / sounds super loud with it .

    Wondering what to stick with

I do not know anything about the Creative stuff as I avoid ANYTHING with the Creative name on it (***TLDR reasons below), but on my Realtek, devices like a mic or any line in ports that are not plugged in, they do not show up in the control panel...until they are plugged in. That is normal behavior as long as they are detected and show up when you plug them in. In the Windows control panel, I do see a microphone with a down pointing, red arrow on it showing it is not plugged in, but nothing in the Realtek CP (until I plug it in).

***TLDR Reasons to hate Creative: I had a Sound Blaster Live, top of the line, way back when, and long story short it was garbage, with complete crap, bloated drivers, popping, scratchy sound, etc. My onboard C-Media chip sounded and worked better, and this was way back in 2001 or so. So I replaced it with a $7 generic card with a C-Media 8338 chip (and many more later, 8768, Xonar (yes, they are c-media chips), etc.) and that thing was much better than the high price Creative junk.

There was Aureal 3d and Sensura back in the day that were making much superior ways to do 3d sound vs EAX, so what does Creative do? Hostile takeover, buyout, and trash the superior methods to keep the inferior EAX garbage afloat. Not only that, but they promptly sent their lawyers on a crusade and forced all the manufacturers that relied on Sensura to retroactively pull their 'Sensura enabled' drivers and replace them with...well...broken ones. In short, they sabotaged the competitions products. So I had bought a C-Media based card for the sole purpose of escaping the "evil corporation" only to have them attack the new product later and render it broken...gimped at best. Same as Nvidia did to 3dfx I imagine.
