This is probably a dumb question, but if MS has purchased GitHub, and GitHub has the "open source" info for Classic Shell, it looks as tho MS should help work on this as a matter of serving their customers. I know the MS haters don't think this is the way MS works, However, to me it seems a reasonable path to continue this app many Windows users prefer and would also help the MS image while doing so. Ok, call me Pollyanna.....

Microsoft is in the Business of Pushing their own products and frown on 3rd party apps. The Open Source Product must be in two spots as I see it Here:

microsoft should implement the classic shell options to native windows 10 options give the users what they want. just want more control and ways to personalize without forced to use any 3 rd program.

Did you not see what they did with Windows 8 and 8.1. The native Win 10 options would be as is without Classic Shell.

MS's purchase of GitHub does not mean that MS has anything to do with the code hosted there.

When will Insider Build 17692 be officially released as an approved Windows Update? I usually install feature updates about 3 months after initial release so Classic Shell should work a while longer for me. I'm not too bothered so long as cheap alternatives like StartIsBack work but I hope not to have to use the Windows 10 menu.

By the time it becomes a public release the build number will probably be higher than 17692, but with the current bi-annual release pattern the next Features Update is expected in October as version 1809.

I do not agree , CS worked on every insider build till the latest one so what would make it work when RS5 is released? Ivo had to know something or he would have kept up, but it is OK to dream or have hopeful feelings. I will just use The Win 10 if I even go to RS5. If CS works great but I really doubt it.

I've managed to quit using the start menu apps a few years ago and have no qualms with my setup now. In fact, it's how I would prefer it at this point.
