Hey guys, I'm sure this is a stupid question, but since I used to use win10pese, and now found that it's been infected with azin, which both either don't seem to work right for me or else they disable my laptop's track pad, I remembered that the last (SUCCESSFUL!) build I made was with win10XPE, I downloaded it again, as I didn't have it at the time, as I accidentally deleted it, but the problem I was wanting to solve didn't get fixed by rebuilding my build...
The problem you ask? FONTS!!! I'm not sure if you can with win10XPE but I've been trying to find a way to easily add custom fonts, from trying the non-existent don't extension/install support on the final image, to just copying a full fonts folder over, and HELL, I even tried copying my build to the win10pese folder to use THAT projects fonts script, but NOOO... nothing works!!! It seems to boot fine usually, if I didn't mess something else up, but it always stalls out at a black screen with my mouse pointer looking like a "pointer with hourglass next to it".
Is there some EASY way I'm overlooking, to do this, or is there a script somewhere that'll do what I need? I KNOW I've had the font control panel and don't adding stuff working in the past, but I don't know if I've ever had the occasion to need to check if it works in win10xpe until now... Also, before anyone asks, I don't know if application install based don't installation works or not, just that the system based font associations and right click options don't work or appear, and as I said earlier, adding fonts manually doesn't seem to be feasible.
Oh, I forgot, I tried copying a font directly to the font folder after logon, and no dice there either, it may have copied, but if so, it didn't give a pop-up to install it, nor did any programs seem to see it in the font list...
Sorry again if this is stupid, and I know most probably wouldn't need this, but unfortunately I would love to have as much versatility as I can, and that includes being able to install my own fonts or other microsoft fonts, such as those included with msft office, (even though I'm using libre office)...
Any help I can get is greatly appreciated, thanks
or you can use pecmdCode:;file \Windows\Fonts\SegoeIcons.ttf ;reg RegWrite,HKLM,0x1,"Tmp_Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders",Fonts,x:\Windows\Fonts RegWrite,HKLM,0x1,"Tmp_Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts","Segoe Fluent Icons (TrueType)",SegoeIcons.ttf

edit
its ok now ican read it :)
I'm willing to try these steps, however, I'm not so advanced as to be able to just know that automatically a certain line of text goes into a certain time, with the exception of pecmd, which I could guess, but I'm still not familiar enough with it to be 100% sure...
Still wish there was a script to automatically do that stuff like other Projects have though...
I guess I'll try to figure your post and/or steps out, doudiii, but I don't put much faith I'm advanced enough to do anything too much more than script kiddie level stuff though... Heck, even some scripts I KNOW I've put together properly, specifically for other projects that SHOULD work with this project, I can't get to work without directory making or copying, let alone file extraction errors I seem to be getting as well. Seriously, as soon as it looks like something is working, by some miracle, by just adding an if/then style command(even unrelated), then something else breaks. I'm about to give up on fixing things cuz it's likely just some kind of change in the %temp% vs %Gtemp% stuff that should be easy for me to spot, as they're my own cannibalized scrips I cobbled together, for the most part, that I'm having issues with... Ugh :/

Win10XPE - Build Your Own Rescue Media [2]
Hello @JonF
Your link in today's post #2036 redirects to your older post #798 . The links in that post download CHM help files dated November 8, 2023 not May 27, 2024 as your post indicates for major updates. Can you verify that those are correct links for the latest help file? Thank you for your contribution.
Hello, good afternoon, everyone, and please excuse my ignorance. I am new to creating WinPE11 ISOs with the Win10XPE tool. My experience has been very good and I have been able to create an ISO as a test for DRT on a set of Lenovo machines. However, I am facing the following problem: I don't know how to change the folder structure of the start menu. That is, I want to create a custom configuration with the programs I have added to the build, but I don't know how to do it. I know it's related to the scripts, but I am completely lost. If anyone can help me with this, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance and best regards.
To create custom folders in the Start Menu, navigate here: Win10PXE\Projects\MyPlugins\Apps
Inside that folder you can create custom folders and then put your plugins within those newly created folders. Once you do this, make sure to either re-launch or refresh the Win10XPE WinBuilder application so that it will scan and find the new folders and plugins that you put there. Then build your PE and it will have those new folders / plugins within the start menu.
