    Hi All,

When burning the ISO generated by Win10XPE with Rufus, the USB volume label defaults to "Win10XPE_64". Is there some way to change this?

    Thx!
I just realized I may not have been clear enough on this! I know how to give an ISO a different volume name in Rufus but I'm looking for a way to modify the ISO so that it has a specific volume name by default rather than "Win10XPE_x64". Thanks again!

I thought it was as simple as that but it still shows Win10XPE_64 when the ISO is selected in Rufus and not the name of the ISO. Maybe Rufus has a cached memory of the ISO somehow?

Good Read - Now I will have to study your process - and try to Script the Application...
    Helllo Kyhi,

Thank you for the initiative. I appreciate the encouragement. I wouldlike to learn to develop a simple plugin. Let me try it out.

    Thank you!

Start with "Utilities / XPE Packed Application Creator" -- Not sure the Application needs to be in System32 -
a Program folder should be fine...

    Changing final iso filename

Please open the file %BaseDir%\Projects\Win10XPE\CreateISO.script in a text editor. Line no 19 is :

    %ISOFileName%=%BaseDir%\%ProjectName%_%Architecture%.ISO

I think you need to change it to your chosen filename. %BaseDir% is the directory where your Win10XPE.exe is located. Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

That is how the ISO file is Named by Project.... But the ISO file could be renamed in windows (after the fact)...
And it does not require the Editing of Project Scripts.... Although same difference, with same results....
So to me, clearly the wrong advise...

The mounted Volume Name is based upon the ISO File Name...

Interefering in the script is not always advisible. Agreed.

    Update :

    I found this ...

    C:\Windows\System32>label /?
Creates, changes, or deletes the volume label of a disk.

    LABEL [drive:][label]
    LABEL [/MP] [volume] [label]

drive: Specifies the drive letter of a drive.
label Specifies the label of the volume.
/MP Specifies that the volume should be treated as a
    mount point or volume name.
volume Specifies the drive letter (followed by a colon),
mount point, or volume name. If volume name is specified,
    the /MP flag is unnecessary.

I guess, the label.exe should be executed after the iso is created. Will it work ...?

That would appear to be something you would use "After" the drive is mounted....

The "Volume Name" is what ever the ISO "File Name" is.... Rename ISO file to "Xmas.iso" and the displayed Volume Name will be "Xmas" (Up to 12 or 13 Characters)

    Hi Kyhi,

I had a quick look. Seems too much for me to start with. Let me begin with a simple thing. I alrady have a reg file that removes various user folders from file explorer. And it works on Win10XPE. Let me see if I am able to convert it into a plugin.

    Thanks!
