After new case install: Google Backup and Sync constantly syncing

I installed a new case a few days back and had numerous issues therefore. I believe I'm down to my last issue:

I use Google Backup and Sync to backup all my photos to the cloud. There are approximately 35,000 photos on my HDD. Problem is this: it takes the app about 15 hours to sync all the files to the cloud, but it starts the sync from beginning every time I power up and down the system. Essentially, it's always syncing. This is not right. This didn't happen before I moved the system to the new case.

It should check to see the files are synced and be done syncing minutes after startup. But as I said, it doesn't do that. The resources its taking to sync from scratch every time are obviously large.

Any solutions to this one??? Thanks in advance! -Gordon.

PS - I've searched for solutions online. The google help forums are totally worthless herefore.

From your posting you said you had numerous issues. Might help if you listed them to see if members can relate any to what you are seeing.

Have you tried logging out of Backup and then logging in.

While a new case should not impact Lan speed have you run any tools to see that you are indeed connected at high speed.

Speedtest.net is one web site and there is a Windows 10 app for very fast connections.

Once all photos have been backed up it will only sync new ones and Google drive. I assume you haven't put photos in Google drive folder or it will backup twice

No. No new photos. It just keeps backing up perpetually.

Ken, the numerous issues were that Windows wouldn't boot after I installed the new case. Did a fair amount of troubleshooting to no avail, so I ended up doing a fresh install. It's working great now. You already helped me debug the restart issue. The google sync is the last remaining issue. Thank you so much for the input!!

Yes. I saw that page. No help. I'm going to next remove and reinstall the app to see if that solves the issue. Fingers are crossed.

You cleaned installed .... wonder if that is now treating this as first sync.

Anyway that gives us (you) some new search terms.

Struggling with the words myself but something like how to I resync data on new pc. ( I know it is not new byt data will look new to Google)

or I transferred data to new device how do I resync.

Yes. It should have treated it as a first sync. But like I've said, the sync completes (after about 10-12 hours) and then it syncs from the starting point every time I restart windows (It has now done this about 4 times in the last 3 days). So it is effectually always syncing.

Just removed the app and reinstalled it. We'll see how it goes.
