Hello all,
Is there any way to have only the private OneDrive start automatically on Windows startup, but not the business OneDrive?
Hello and thanks for the tutorial!Unfortunately, the *.NFO files generated by Windows contain the username in many places, for company computers the company name, and may also contain information...
Yeah I just found that with "smaller" folder structures, it works fine with both symlinks and junctions.
But if I junction- or symlink a multi-dozen gigabyte folder structure with some 100,000...
This no longer works, does it? Microsoft also says so. Well it seems to work for a folder with some files contained in it. But as soon as the folder contains entire folder structures, it doesn't work...
Hello, thanks for the tutorial. I had done it this way before, but the file pinned this way was lost from the Taskbar after some time.
Here is another method that I think has less the character...
Interestingly, matching the topic of this thread, there is now a Tool called Aomei App Mover that can move any installed program from the C: disk to another drive with just a few clicks, including...
Funny, I just cloned (within Windows) my F: drive (where all my programs are installed) to another SSD and then moved the drive letter F: from the old drive to the new one using MiniTool Partition...
Yeah, I'd like to know that as well.
Maybe someone has found out in the meantime why this is not working anymore.
Ok so this I solved (on the second PC) by holding shift while rebooting from the lock screen (that would not let me in for lack of finding a users folder), thereby booting into safe mode (with...
Thank you Kari for this fantastic tutorial!
I am now also planning to move my user folder.
The scenario in my case is as follows.
I have been installing my programs on a dedicated SSD...
Thanks! I flat-installed this on an internal SSD, and it booted perfectly. However, after a reboot, it gives me a blue screen every time. (Same happened when I installed Sergei Strelec's WinPE this...
Gents, are there any ready-built, downloadable Win10XPE images anywhere?
My experience is that many, if not most, programs and utilities run fine if you simply copy the program folder from a regular installation, and run the *.exe from there.
OK thanks for the "Flat Boot" keyword.
I believe that this applies then:
WinPE: Install on a hard drive (Flat boot or Non-RAM)
Thanks, will try!
I'd like to a) permanently install a slim rescue system on a small second (actually, fifth) SSD, and want to b) be able to make permanent changes to that rescue system occasionally, like install...
Thanks. I guess that this will also be the case if not booting from the ISO but from an actual copy of the WinPE's file structure written to a SSD partition?
Or could I save the RAM drive's...
I was going to ask something similar.
Can I permanently install Win10XPE on a SSD partition, and will it save subsequent changes made to it, like installing additional software or drivers?
Yeah that's right...
I think I'll try and move the folders of those autostart programs, and/or simply remove them from autostart altogether.
Thanks Brink.
It would actually be sufficient for me if it were possible to enter the BitLocker password before logging into Windows, or at least to have a script that prompts for the BitLocker...
Thanks, that's of course the right question here.
I'm refraining from doing that because I'm panicking already when I think of an emergency case where I have to access my OS drive externally when...
Thanks Brink for the fast reply :)
I was asking because that locked data drive in my case leads to all kind of errors with several programs when it is locked.
Specifically, Dropbox, Syncthing...
Thanks very much Brink for the great tutorial.
Is it possible to unlock a data drive automatically in one of the ways described in the tutorial -- even when the system drive is not encrypted?
Unfortunately not, because I've already installed that Compatibility Pack.
Interestingly, Word 2003 DOES display everything including folder shortcuts in it's Open/Save dialogs when you type an...
