I fail to see how the tesing to establish if the alarm still sounds can take at least a weekEvery one hold their breath, I turned off "Let apps run in the background" and I did not get the alarm at its' scheduled time, but I am in a "wait and see" state for now and will do some more testing which will probably take at least a week.
However please let us know when you have established if the alarm still sounds.
May I point out that on 10 a shutdown is NOT a complete shutdown unless you configure it to be it is a Windows 10 sleep state and various apps etc, and certainly those that sound an alarm, will wake the computer to sound it.
If Windows 10 is shut down completely on this procedure
Step 1: Open Start menu, select Power button.
Step 2: Press and hold the Shift key on keyboard, while clicking on Shut down, and then release the Shift key to perform a full shutdown.
and the alarm still sounds, then you can be more or less assured that it is not a windows setting
I have rushed into things before just to find out they were wrong and it may well be in this case because I re-enabled the background apps and I am not getting the alarm now, so apparently there was a coincident with something else.
You failed to read the entire thread, I also did a complete reset of Windows removing all personal files.

A rather sharply worded comment
May I point out to you that my post was number 63.
Do you really expect someone trying to help to read all of 62 posts
I did scan through them, as I always do before replying and I had posted on your thread before - in fact mine was the first response.
If the thread had perhaps half as many posts I would have read them all carefully, but reading 62 is not a realistic expectation of you
Perhaps - thank you for trying to help further MAY I point out that I have already done a reset etc., would have been more in keeping with the time that people have spent trying to help you

Steve,
It depends on 'Fast Startup', being enabled or not.
Check out the link below. You may find it interesting.
Shutting Down Doesn’t Fully Shut Down Windows 10 (But Restarting Does)
I'm familiar with Windows Fast Startup and don't use it or recommend it as it's know to cause boot issues.
So question related to the shutdown and alarms - can you guys come up with a scenario where your PC is shutdown and you can make it wake up/turn on/beep by setting the alarm clock or some other way that doesn't rely on external stimulus? I tried with my PC asleep yesterday to set an alarm, then put it to sleep and when the alarm time came, it didn't wake up.
