PC shuts down unexpectedly when it should go to sleep
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, version 2004
MSI motherboard with AMD FX processor
I first had issue after upgrade to 2004
Hibernate was enabled somehow even though it's shown as no. But it was fixed by using command line powercfg /h off. The PC goes to sleep and wakes up properly, no issue.
I upgraded to 20H2 by installing KB4562830 by accident. The power problem became worse. I turned off hibnerate. However, the PC shuts down instead, not cleanly, but unexpectedly
I tried powercfg /h on. When it supposes to sleep (idling or choose Start -> Power -> Sleep), it will hibernate.
I thought it's 20H2. So I uninstalled KB4562830. The problem is still there.
I've checked sfc, DISM and power troubleshooting. No problem is reported.
Online search says it's likely problem with driver. The PC is rather old so last driver from manufacturer was from 2019. I decided to try
I installed
1. Optional drivers in Windows Update (smart card reader, AMD driver 2017). No effect
2. nVidia graphics card driver. No effect
3. Onboard audio, network card, USB 3. This time it worked but only briefly. Sleeping is fine hibernate on or off. But after 1 night, it reverted. I checked all the updated driver and they are all the same as right after instead the installation yesterday.
I'm running out of idea.
What could I do to hunt down the problem?
Thanks
