    PC won't boot

Changed the windows startup pic last night and now pc won't start today; goes just past the windows logo and then screen turn black with cursor and spinning small circle above as if it is processing something, but just stays as that point, any suggestions other than reloading new os.

Find a flash drive that you can format (> or = 8 GB).

On a working computer create a bootable Windows 10 iso 2004:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10
    Download Windows 10 ISO File
Create Bootable USB Flash Drive to Install Windows 10

What are the status of the important computer files:
    a) files backed up to another drive or the cloud
    b) backed up images saved to another drive or the cloud
    c) no backed up files or images > files need to be saved
    d) no backed up files or images > files do not need to be saved

Already have the bootable drive on flash but repair could not fix, need repair mbr I presume. If I could get to the restore point I could repair that way, but says no restore points, shutdown and reboot to select restore? C; the last image was before last update and didn't get around to updating image yet. (dumb)

Find a camera or smartphone camera to take pictures and post images into the thread.

    1) perform hard reboots and indicate:
    a) whether a startup repair displayed srttrail.txt
    b) whether it did or did not display options for opening safe mode

    2) boot to the iso > repair > troubleshoot
    a) report startup repair srttrail.txt
    b) report available or unavailable system restore points

    3) open command prompt:
    type these commands:

    Code:
    bcdedit /enum all
    bcdedit | find "osdevice"
    diskpart
    lis dis
    lis vol
    sel dis 0
    det dis
    lis par
    sel par 1
    det par
    sel par 2
    det par
    sel par 3

    sel par 5

    sel par 3

    sel par 4

    sel par 5
    det par
    exit

    bootrec /fixboot
    bootrec /fixmbr
    bootrec /scanos
    bootrec /rebuildbcd

    Instead of troubleshooting you can:
    a) perform steps equivalent to a reset save files
    b) backup important files > perform a clean install

    Glad to read the progress.
