    Sluggish pc

    Sorry for the lame title...
    I have good up/down but this pc is just sluggish now. I don't know when it happened but it seems new. My wife's pc, which just got w10, is similarly sluggish.

    It's just not snappy like it used to be. The only thing that has changed are some networking that had to be redone when her OS was updated. I did add a 2nd monitor and I did d/l WPD and turned off some privacy settings. WPD = WPD | The real privacy dashboard for Windows. There was no apparent change in performance after doing any of the above.

    CPU-Z attached.
    It's an older PC but it seemed to be OK last month.

    Sluggish - switching windows, drop down menus, even simply graphics painting vs just popping up, etc...

    I run sysinternals process explorer and nothing is being stretched. I don't 'see' why I'm getting this performance all of a sudden. It SEEMS like I'm hammering the CPU or memory but that is not what process explorer or task manager is showing me.

    Run through these steps:

    1) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    2) sfc /scannow
    3) dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
    4) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    5) sfc /scannow
    6) chkdsk /scan
    7) wmic recoveros set autoreboot = false
    8) wmic recoveros set DebugInfoType = 7
    9) bcdedit /enum {badmemory}

    10) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    11) Place the computer in clean boot:
    Perform a Clean Boot in Windows 10 to Troubleshoot Software Conflicts

    12) Check the reliability control panel:
    Reliability Monitor is the Best Windows Troubleshooting Tool You Aren’t Using

    Hello,
    I have a little trick that always helps a slowish machine.

    Goto,

    Control Panel,
    System,
    Advanced,
    Performance, then Settings inside that tab.

    There are 17 different options. Some change the graphical interface by quite alot so be prepared. Test it out and try disabling them all. You watch how fast your machine is after that

    I have not had time to jump into this but for, some reason, it is skipping along nicely today.
    Let's see what happens when I open QuickBooks.

    Seems to be OK with QB running. I did take out a bunch of the settings to pretty up windows. I think w10 is hideous....so blocky.

    @ChrisPbass -

    Hi there!

    Have you at least performed the SFC/DISM steps that @zbook outlined above? I would.
