Sluggish laptop -- any suggestions?

Nah. I don't need the Radeon and I have better things to do than to try to find a working driver.

I'll let this run for a week or two and see how it does for stability, crashes, BSODs, etc. It is definitely better -- I haven't gotten a corrupted BIOS in quite a while, and the recent BSOD after installing drivers is the only one I've had in about 10 days. I had one "hung while sleeping" this week.

Damn. Other than the BSOD after I installed the Radeon driver, I haven't had a problem for 10 days. I thought maybe we'd fixed it.

And this morning it was hung. **sigh** At least it doesn't seem to do it quite as often as before...

There will always be new software, updates, browsers, etc. that can cause hangs.
You can use the reliability control panel to regularly monitor them:

Hm. Yesterday and today I got dozens of errors for dwm.exe and Desktop Window Manager -- stopped responding, stopped working, etc.

Last night at 10:06pm I got a "Hardware error" -- but that didn't kill the system. I continued to get dwm.exe errors until 10:43am this morning, which is about when I noticed the system was hung & rebooted it. No dwm.exe errors after reboot.



I googled for the LiveKernelEvent but didn't find anything useful.

That indicated video problems.
Not enough to cause BSODs.

The last Kernel dump was 11/29.

The last crash, or unexpected shutdown or restart were 11/30 and 11/20 (these are seen during manual power off, BSOD, malfunctioning hardware, etc.)

The BSOD was probably when I updated the Radeon driver. I've disabled it now.
The kernel dump was probably when I got the Hardware Error last night. The dwm.exe errors started soon after that, and continued until I rebooted this morning.

Open a support ticket for VBox.

And say what? Does the V2 report finger VBox as the crash culprit? Should I just send them the error reports from the V2?
