I agree, it seemed like that to me from the opening post
The working for a day or two - seems to suggest as I said the drive, but that has been covered with the install of the new drive - ram - \PSU or indeed motherboardI was on windows 8.1 with normal hard drive Dell Inspiron 3847, 16 gb memory and all FINE, Then Chrome started getting very slow. I uninstalled Chrome and put it back in, things would work for a day. Lots of freezes started happening. I upgraded to windows 10, loads of high cpu and disk percentages, reset windows 10 a few times, would work for a day but when it slept or hibernated, could never recover, froze, repair, system restore, etc. Days I would be down trying to get back up just from sleeping or hibernation. Tried to go back o 8.1, wouldn't boot, all kind of errors. Tried all resolutions,

could possibly be the failure to delete all partitions on the SSD, created from the numerous attempts to install 10 - as it appears they were not all deleted but an install attempted on
in an unallocated partition that I hit new and chose 247GB.
