    White screen at bootup

Hi all, have just upgraded from Windows 7 Pro to 10 pro. The computer boots to safe mode ok but at normal startup I get a white screen with a box top left of screen regarding cortana etc. I have seen the normal screen momentarily, it then reverts back to the white screen. So far I have
Tried to reinstall my Nvidia Graphics card but unable to in safe mode.
Booted to installation on usb stick & tried to repair. It was unable to.
    Unplugged all external devices (usb)
I am now out of ideas with my limited knowledge, does anyone have an idea as to what I can try next?
    Many thanks.
    Roy

Hi, my guess might be it's somewhere at the start of configuring your account and stalled there- never seen a screen like that before.

For anyone to help you please:
    - complete your system specs (see mine for comparison - My computer below my post).
In particular - what is the exact model of your PC? - what exactly is your graphics card?

    How old is your PC?
Please post a link to drivers for that PC.
For which edition of Windows are the latest drivers offered? (e.g. 7/8/10).

If you search for that PC model, can you find any other examples where people have tried to upgrade to Win 10?

    - How did you start the upgrade? E.g.
    • via Windows update
    • using a Win 10 boot disk

if the latter, which build is it? (e.g. 1607, 1709, 1809, 1903) - or - how did you create it?
    - When you upgraded, did you first uninstall your AV?

If you look at your C: drive, do you see Windows.old ?

If so, you should be able to 'Go back to the previous build' should that prove necessary.

Click these four keyboard keys at the same time and report into the thread what you see and hear:
    win + ctrl + shift + b

See if you can find/borrow an external monitor for testing purposes?

There are log collectors used in another forum room.
Run V2 and upload the results into this thread:
    BSOD - Posting Instructions

List any non-Microsoft antivirus software that was in use before the upgrade.
If ESET is installed then remove it using the applicable uninstall tool:
Uninstall ESET manually using the ESET uninstaller tool—ESET Knowledgebase

After completing the above steps place the computer in clean boot and report into the thread any changes:
