Ok, I think I know what seems to be going on with these crashes.

I ran task manager in the background and booted up Project CARS 2 (in windowed mode). What I noticed was that in the menu's, the GPU usage was fine, sitting around ~30/40%. However, after about a minute, suddenly the GPU usage just spiked up to 99/100%, and then shortly after the white/black screen occurred.

I'm not really sure what exactly is causing this massive spike. It's not like it's rapidly rising towards 100%, it literally jumps from 30/40% to 100% and then crashes. I tried turning down the power settings in EVGA's Precision X1, but that didn't seem to do anything (maybe I did it wrong?)

I'll also definitely look towards your suggestions @Pejole2165, I appreciate the help so far. Unfortunately though, any warranties I had are no longer so worst case scenario I'll have to revert back to an older GPU

EDIT: nvr mind, the GPU spike only occurred when I went into video settings. Seems like even playing in Windowed can still give crashes albeit later than if it was fullscreen

Ok wow I feel like kind of an idiot now :/

Turns out nothing wrong with the actual GPU itself, ended up being a problem with it sagging in the PCI slot. I think what happened is that I had to turn it over to the other side once to adjust something with my hard drive and that's probably when the GPU got disturbed

So far I've done a restart and the problems haven't occurred so I'm inclined to believe it's solved now. It'd probably explain why doing the GPU swap worked the first time but then the problems happened after a restart (as it was installed with the PC facing on its side and then by the time of the restart the PC was facing normally)

Seems like you have found the cause, after eliminating software it could only be hardware, I suppose the first step in troubleshooting should probably be to make sure everything is connected properly, then software, then faulty hardware if the first two are ok.
Hope the issue is solved for you now.

hii, the problem I faced was resolved after I replaced my GPU, it turned out that the GPU was having trouble with the memory inside the GPU itself (said the technician who checked my PC), he suggested I change the GPU and afterwards all the problems disappeared. maybe it's because of the age of the GPU itself that is old or because of electricity in my house that sometimes the voltage is not stable, so I'm thinking of looking for a UPS the other day.
thank you in advance for this discussion
I hope you all have a great day.
    greetings from Indonesia.
