Win 10 issue has me stumped!
Hello all. Attempting to help and elderly church friend with an issue that just came up with her PC. She saw a message saying that an error was found and Windows needed to restart and fix it. All her PC would do after that was sit there with the little spinning wheel and would never restart or boot up. She restarted the PC numerous times but she is now getting some sort of FAT error message. Sorry I have not been able to reproduce this error to be able to repeat exactly what it says.
I put in a Windows 10 dvd that I created some time ago, and have used many times in order to "fix" start up issues and the like. When I put it in I keep getting an error message that says there is a missing media driver which could be a DVD, USB or Hard disk driver......I don't know why it is saying this, but it is reading from the disk, I'm not using a USB, and CHKDSK says all is fine. I can close this and get to UEFI screen which allows me to choose from 5 or 6 options. From System Restore, System Reset, Restore from System Image, Command Prompt, but the PC will not allow me to reset the PC, probably because 10 was not originally on the PC, but it will not allow me to restore or repair but instead gives me the error about the driver. While running SFC I got a message that errors were found but it could not fix them because the drive was write protected. Using DISKPART I was unable to change this for any and all volumes I found on the drive.
Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
