Does Reliability History have any entries ?
To access it,start typing ---reliability ---in the Search box.
I searched "reliability" in PC Settings and found entries.
Attached are 2 entries that I saved to a folder as a .jpg These occurred on 1-4-24 when I had the issues of the comp0uter being shut down improperly.

Your description of the failure event & the message also makes me think you are running Windows from a USB-connected device i.e. "WindowsToGo".
I suggest you check and post your Disk management.

And I suggest you check the contents of the USB device you mentioned and try running without having it connected.

    All the best,

Thanks Denis, but I am running Windows 10 Pro from my HP Laptop that I had previously (months ago) cloned from my other older HP Laptop. This HP Laptop is running no USB only the 1 TB NvME SSD hard drive after cloning. I also upped the RAM that came with it to 32GB from 8 GB that came installed. Been working very well. I've shut it down many times and started back up, as normal shut down, as well as a soft boot (reboot) sometimes after Windows updates. Normal reboot or shut down and reboot do not show that message I posed a pic of.

Have you decided not to follow up what I suggested?

Both entries indicate possible file corruption and therefore a cleanup might solve it.
In Powershell [admin ],type in ---dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth ---and when completed, type in ---sfc /scannow ---and run it until a clean report is given.
Suggest you copy and paste the ---Problem event name and Application name -into the Seach box and see which solution matches your situation.
Repeat with -Problem event name and Code.

To the contrary I have followed up as you and many others have suggested.
Here is the thing. This is a random event. I can boot down now, as I have the other days, with no issues, such as that message. I have installed Windows updates and had to reboot. No issues.
IF and that is the crux, IF the HP 15-dy2132wm (model) abruptly has a hardware issue and powers down, without proper shutdown and reboot, then i get the message. Since this is a laptop with the battery inside, I cannot easily just turn off power abruptly, like I can on my desktop. We had a power outage a few days ago and the desktop booted back up with no pop up window telling me about "Windows To Go"

WHAT is causing the sudden power disruption? I did post jpg of the 2 issues that happened on Jan 4, and one was a hardware alert. I thought if I posted that here, someone might figure out what the cause of the "lock" is.

IF the HP 15-dy2132wm (model) abruptly has a hardware issue and powers down, without proper shutdown and reboot,
    - and given you have a battery- that's most likely a hardware issue.

Abrupt shutdowns typically do not permit reports to be generated by their nature.

As to the BEX64 error you posted:
Fix Problem Event Name BEX64 in Windows 11/10
    - but this is reported against what appears to be a Windows system file...!

The second suggests, as I suggested above, a hardware issue is reponsible.

With a laptop your options are very limited- basically disk or RAM.
How many RAM sticks do you have? If two, remove one, then test, then swap and test again.

I appreciate that, if everything about the Windows installation is standard, there is no need to look at Disk mgmt.

Something as yet unknown is making Windows generate that rather exotic error message.
Are there any warnings in Device mgr or does it have an Other devices section [which is a euphemism for no driver found]?

I have gone into my registry and disabled the "PortableOperatingSystem" by giving it a value of 0 rather than 1.

Yesterday I had to take out my NvME SSD drive out of this computer, and when I reinserted it, I also re-seated both memory modules. I've booted a few times with no issues with the message.
Now lets see if the same issue of unwanted, abrupt shut down happens again.
