    public pictures, public video folders cannot delete

    Hello,

    I am fighting with those 2 folders in C:\Users\Public

    I think their names in English should be Public Pictures and Public Video, but I have now Windows in local language...

    I can delete them, but after some while they are back there, I believe there probably is some Windows process or update that re-creates them each time;

    They are empty forlders and always been empty, I don't need those factory folders, I am creating my own folders and those just create Chaos.

    How to Delete those folders permanently?!

    Such a thing never happens with my own folders, deleted or not...

    Hello, and welcome to Ten Forums.

    This may help...

    Windows has routinely re-created most of my default shell folders, at every update, after I had deleted them.
    On top of that, certain programs, such as Windows Media Player, will create any media-related folders on
    every startup, if they don't exist.

    This sort of behavior seems to be ingrained at Microsoft. Don't fight it, just install and use Linux instead.

    C:\Users\Public are folders that are part of the Windows OS and if Deleted will return after a reboot. It is used to share files or folders with other users on your home network. You can restrict who has access to these folders.
    If you don't use them then just ignore them, they are empty and they don't take up any space.

    Instead of deleting them (yes, it is possible...but could make lot of trouble!) you hide them.

    Right-click on Public folder, click properties, under Attributes check the box 'Hidden' and click apply. Now the folder will be hidden and out of sight.
