You can block the Windows 11 Upgrade How to Block the Windows 11 Update From Installing on Windows 10
Is your daughters login a Microsoft Login? (ie) Email Address, or is it a Local login, a user name you created?
If Local, it will be the password that you created. Did you try Leaving the password field blank?
You can always recover or reset your password on another internet device (ie) Smart Phone, tablet, or other computer https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...a-8318c8f68b9c

You can use ANY internet device, Smart phone, Laptop, Tablet etc to try and login and it will give you the Forgot Password link if you fail. Then It will give you a code or a set of questions to allow you to login to your daughters computer or reset your password.

Why won't Windows Let you connect to the Internet?
    Do you connect via Wifi?
If WiFi, at the Login screen, click the Globe in the lower right hand corner by the clock and view Available Wireless networks, select your WiFi Network and type in your WiFi password. You do not need to be logged in with the password to connect to the internet. (see attached)
Can you use an Ethernet Cable?
To Reset you Microsoft password, you don't need to use the computer that you are having issues with.

Ok that helps , or at least it would have done because I intended to use my daughters laptop to make a usb iso in the hope it would allow me to remove the problems caused by update KB5022282 to my circa £1000 laptop .

A hardware fault does not drain a good battery that has just fully charged and remains plugged in within 3 minutes of KB5022282 starting to install

This thread is so long and you have tore a laptop apart and put it back together, I am not sure what's working now and what isn't? So, are you now able to login to your daughters laptop? Is that the one that KB5022282 is installing on?

If the charging port has failed or is not working or the incorrect power adapter is used, then the battery won't recharge, Which would be a hardware fault,. Or is that another computer you are talking about?

For reasons known only to some mentally retarded programmer at windows 10 the password that I removed at her request the very last time she used her laptop has returned , AND despite the correct password being entered 20 or 30 times access to the laptop was forbidden until it was connected to the internet .

As for the dismantled and very expensive MSI laptop nothing drains a perfectly good and fully charged battery in 3 minutes so windows update has programmed my laptop to believe the battery is dead and not charging .

Criminal damage I would call that

I returned to my laptop that had been left on after an hour surprised to see a battery warning .

My laptop lives on a desk and plugged in though maybe once a month i unplug just to cycle the battery .

Restarting my MSI laptop got me a new night scene screen "like what you see?" and a password prompt .

I disabled the scenes feature and the login password prompt long ago .

I can only assume windows has decided to force 11 on people as they did 10 .

Never mind that my intel i7 is incompatible , Far worse than that is they removed all drivers so i cannot recharge the battery or power on my laptop .

Even removing the c-mos makes no difference , the laptop is dead unless anyone can suggest a fix ?
I would not assume it has to be Windows 11. In fact I highly doubt that it is.
