I am sure you will all be happy to know the laptop reassembled fine when i found the time , but alas the problem persists and i'm reasonably convinced that the CPU has failed , which would explain the lazy freezing vanishing cursor this past week as well .

Not replaceable, so game over .

I'm British , don't drink or smoke and I've only worked a minimum of 50 hours a week for 50 years so i can't afford another laptop which should cheer you all up no end .

Its always a windows problem , every 5th update requires the user to spend days fixing .
No, dismantling the device for no reason kills it.

2 year olds in china build them to be paid in breastmilk .

Undoing a few screws doesn't break anything . Wonder how long i will have to wait before it becomes common knowledge that win10 updates broke CPU drivers .

Windows did not break it, taking it apart, dropping it, spilling stuff on a computer kills them.

How easy would it be to just unplug the hard drive then power on the machine to see if you can at least get to the BIOS screen?
