Sudden keyboard layout change

I was typing a letter today when all of a sudden words with a Y had a Z and the key Z resulted in a Y on the screen.
The same for some other keys which quite apparently got remapped.
From the configuration most likely German keyboard layout.

Checking in "time & language" everything was correct: region and language set to "English (United States)"
Odd was only that some settings I knew were set always to "on" were turned off. Such as set time automatically and set time zone automatically.

Anyone ever have experienced such? If so what causes that? Is not the first time I encountered.

Figured it out in the mean time.
Was not aware that one can switch in Windows 10 KB language with Win & Spacebar.
Must have accidentally hit the Win kez while pressing Spacebar.
Never a dull moment with W10.
