I have done the backup in MR now and it finished successfully, however it looks like the disk is really bad. I got a message in MR that 8300 clusters are part of bad sectors. I guess the SSD went into read only mode because of this?
    Seems that way.

Yes, if your drive has Bad Sectors it will go into Read Only mode. As far as your backup is concerned, it's a good thing you made an M R image, but be aware that any file that is on a bad sector will have corrupted data, and when you restore that image, you may import all of the problems you are having now.
If the Image file won't mount or it won't boot, then you can restore just Files and Folders from an MR Image Backup and restore the files to an external drive.. Then do a Windows 10 Clean Installon on a new SSD. .

Spunk is right, Get a new SSD, do a clean Windows install on it, then copy back your data from the failed drive.

There's a "very super high probability" that none of these bad sectors contains any of you data.

Most of the time Windows "High uses Files" cause this and are the victims.

    Especially system hives.

    Hello,

my PC will not boot anymore, apparently because it finds no bootable disk. The boot disk is a Samsung 980 Pro installed in the top of the two M2 slots of my Asus Dark Hero VIII board.
The system was running fine last night and I kept it running over night (I got it on 24/7). Today when I checked the PC the screen was black. Upon reboot I always got into the BIOS (loop). After changing some boot options to legacy I saw that the system doesn‘t find a bootable disk. So I went on with a bootable Windows 10 USB stick and tried to repair via command prompt.
The good news is that the disk is still there and and shows the correct directory structure. After some attempts of getting the disk bootable again with bcdboot etc I figured out that the disk is write protected.
Now I tried clearing the readonly flag via the diskpart attributes command but that does not work.

The question is what else can I do? Could the disk have some failures and somehow turned itself into read only mode? Or could it be some kind of malware? I checked a few text files on the disk via command prompt and the content seems fine, not encrypted.
Is there some way to remove the write protection? Even if the disk is faulty I‘d prefer to remove my data before returning it for a replacement.

I would appreciate any useful tips, thank you!
Hi, I have same problem with same SSD.
    How did you solve it?

Install a new SSD do a clean install of Windows, attach old drive to computer via a USB Adapter, drag and drop personal User Files to new SSD from old drive.
