Cannot burn ISO to a DVD-R disc

    Hello all,

I was trying to burn an ISO file to a blank, new DVD-R disc with my external Asus SDRW-08D2S-U recorder, and I tried a few ways do that but none of them have succeeded.

I firstly tried to burn the disc with the Windows 10 built-in ISO burner, but it showed some errors.
Then I tried a few 3d party ISO burners, but no one did the job.

Now my disc is completely destroyed.

I will buy a new disc, but please tell me how to successfully burn it.

By the way,the ISO file I want to burn is the Ultimate Boot CD.

    Please help me.

    Thanks to all in advance.

My Windows version is : Version 21H1 (OS Builed 19043.1320)

    Hi,

Do you need it absolutely to be a DVD ? You can use Rufus and create a USB Drive with your ISO. Works great.

It sounds more like its your external DVD recorder that has a problem. Maybe you need to clean its lens.

    .
That happens, only takes one try sometimes to keep an R disc from being useful.

I have a couple drives like that one. Are you plugging it into a USB 2 or USB 3 port? The USB 3 provides more power so I'd try that. I'd found that the RW disc isn't bootable even though closed out. I've used Roxio Easy CD and DVD Creator for years, less than $30 at Wal*Mart last time I looked.
