OH MY GOODNESS! I just registered here to thank you! Thanks SO MUCH! FINALLY! That fix worked!
Thanks,
I had an issue on my Win10 Insider Preview machine after an AMD gfx driver update. It took me two days to sort it out.
I read through this thread and see that ESET or a member over there posted a solution (work around?).
That is great news for all members affected by the issue reported on this thread!
I also read the recording, but it did not shed any new light on the issue.
So, you were right - it was related to ESET. Good work on your part !
Glad a solution was found and thanks to the member who posted it here on TenForums (I read quickly, so I'm not sure who posted it here first )
Thank you very much, it is worked.
Run regedit (start menu > run/search > regedit) and go to these 2 destinations:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{42aedc87-2188-41fd-b9a3-0c966feabec1}\InProcServer32\
AND
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{42aedc87-2188-41fd-b9a3-0c966feabec1}\InProcServer32\
Double click on (Default) and replace "%SystemRoot%\SysWow64\shell32.dll" with "%SystemRoot%\system32\windows.storage.dll" in both file destinations.
After a long week, it's finally fixed! :)
Just a question, if ESET v8 (latest database) found or detected a virus/malware again, will it result to the folder view settings problem again?
Thank you so much, guys! I just registered here to shout it out loud! Thanks to you I don't need to reinstall my sys. Awesome!
I do not speak much English, and could not achieve solve the problem, after several attempts, I could solve the problem. Thank you!!!
I spent 2 day with this problem, then decided to do a clean reboot....same thing happened, I was determined to find a solution.....
I thank you again. :)
