Win10 : black screen & cursor after converting MBR TO GPT

    Hello everyone, I need help.
Basically, I converted my disk that has win10 and ubuntu installed on it from MBR to GPT using MiniToolPartitionWizard. then when I restarted my laptop I faced this problem : black screen & cursor ( windows logo doesn't show up ).
I tried crt + alt + del and nothing happened. I also tried BCDboot to fix EFI.
For ubuntu I solved the problem using Boot-Repair and I can boot into it.

I hope you masde a backup as recommended by partitionmagic.

Have you setup EFI mode in BIOS (CSM disabled)? What boot options does your BIOS show?

    Hind sight....what a b#$%.

Research is your friend. You should have done that before attempting to do that. I know some have done this (as I have) with success but only with a single boot. Never attempted that with a dual boot setup. For the most part....most end up like you have.

You might try a bootable USB linux distro and see if you can do the drive repairs through the terminal. You might get lucky.

Otherwise, a clean install is usually the best way to go from MBR to GPT. From my experience, anyway.

Are you using the free edition of Partition Wizard ?

Note: The Free Edition can only convert a data disk to GPT. If users want to convert a system disk to GPT, they need to upgrade to an advanced edition.

But give it some time, someone will be along soon to help.

I didn't buckup but I can access my files using from ubuntu and Hiren's BootCD.

There is no option for CDM in my BIOS, and and those are the boot options available when I press F9.

Plankton is talking about in the Bios, not the Boot menu.

You don`t see any options to change the Bios from Legacy to UEFI, or there may be the option Legacy & UEFI.

Do you see either option in the Bios ?

Why didn`t you check before you tried this ?

Yeah, I knew I could faced this problem when I did it, but I thought it would be easy to solve it.

Yeah I know, I told him there's no CDM option and I just showed him that picture to let him know that EFI is working.
