Re-installing windows led to -> Insert Boot device Error -> Bcdboot

I re-installed my windows , after which I kept getting the "Reboot And Select Proper Boot Device Or Insert Boot Media " error. After this I attempted several solutions with the last one being creating boot files using the command bcdboot.

    "
    bcdboot c:\windwos /s e: /f all
    Boot files successfully created.
    "

After carrying out this solution I my monitor no longer displays anything but just says "No Signal" not sure where to go from here. Any help is much appreciated.

That's an error from your BIOS, because the BIOS failed to find a boot loader.

[1] Where did you get the ISO from?
[2] What did you use to make the installation media bootable.
[3] Did you remove the installation media at the correct point when installing?
[4] Did you delete ALL the partitions leaving a single un-allocated partiton during installation?

Hello, @RJARRRPCGP thank you for your response, what is the next step you would recommend in this case, I tried to reset BIOS manually by taking out the memory battery and holding the power button for 5 seconds.

Hello @Paul Black thank you for your response.
    1. https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/soft...load/windows10 I used this to obtain my ISO file.
    2. I used the media creation tool to create to make my USB bootable.
    3. I didn't remove the installation media at the correct point as I don't know what that means , I have never had to remove the installation media when I've re-installed my windows before.
    4. I didn't delete all the partitions - so no I didn't have a single un-allocated partition. I had a backup one which contained my files. I had a Recovery one which was a few hundred MB and my main C: drive which I formatted and installed the windows on.

Make sure you have the OS drive in the boot order of the BIOS!

Simply step 3, you yank out the usb when it starts up again after the install, then the bios boots from the internal drive, not the usb again.

Do you have more than 1 drive in the PC? Unplug it and reinstall to the boot drive alone.
Step 4, you always delete all partitions on the drive before you let it install windows, unless you know what your doing or have some other OS in a partition on the drive.

And you can reset bios to the defaults, except you should select AHCI mode, not IDE mode before you install windows 10. Because switching can be a super big pain later. Second big pain time for me in 2 weeks. Although I have done it once before without major disasters.

@RJARRRPCGP I attempted this solution previously when my monitor would get signal and I could go into BIOS however it didn't work I kept getting the same message to insert a boot device.
@sdowney717 Thank you for your response. I tried removing the USB and starting the PC again which would give me the insert a boot device message and when I left the usb device in I would go into the windows re-installation process. Ok I will know for next time to delete all partitions before I install windows.

I also tried resetting BIOS to default with AHCI mode selected, but that also gave me the same message as the before.

The problem is now that I can't get any signal on my monitor so I'm limited in what I can do right now.

If you have both onboard motherboard graphics and a separate video card, try the opposite port from what you are connected to now. Also make sure your monitor is set to auto select the input, or it is set to the proper input (HDMI, DVI, etc).

Ok hey guys, so I took our my hard drive and connected it to my laptop I was able to transfer all the files from it and format it so that's all good. I then downloaded the Windows 10 ISO file and installed Windows 10 onto the hard drive. I put it back into the PC and I still get "no signal". I tested the monitor and the cable they both work fine. I tried removing the CMOS battery and holding the power button for 6 seconds. I took out the Ram and cleaned it and put it back in. I also tried changing the PSU. Still I get the same result. I'm not sure what to do at this point. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
