1909 was a quick "switch" that only turned on the hidden features already in 1903. It was a "trigger", not a cumulative or update package.

OK. Accept it already.
A lot of it depends on your connection speed and how many hops between you and the nearest MS server.
Either way, if you got the 2004 update and it didn't mess up your computer... pat yourself on the back, and be happy.
/e Probably the biggest advantage to NOT using WU, is that you can download the MCT and create the ISO... WHILE you're still using your computer.
I already accepted it.
I'm only asking a simple question : how long did it took 2004 for others ?

Internet is 300Mbps from ISP. My normal download speed is about 33-35MB/s no matter where i download from.
Anyway i had no idea it would take that much. I might have made the iso if i knew i was gonna sit for 3 hours, but like you said, right now i'm just happy everything is ok and working as should.
My frustration is with why does MS release these BIG updates. The 2004 is the biggest one by far.
Yeah, I guess it all depends on how much they're changing. There's two feature updates per year... one in May (big one) and one in November (tiny one).
Me... I just got on chat with MS and let them do an "upgrade" from 1909 to 2004... screen sharing.
I'm lazy like that. And for w/e reason, WU had offered me 2004, but it wouldn't install... compatibility issues.
Which is really strange cause this is a brand new computer I just built in May 2020.
/e I just looked at your comp specs. that's probably another reason it took so long. My previous system was an AMD FX 8350. It would have taken forever on that, compared to these new Ryzen CPUs.
Not really for gaming. Just time to upgrade. See my edit above. You're a generation behind. That's a HUGE part of why it took so long for you. Ryzen is way faster, DDR4 is way faster, SSD is way faster.
This was my old comp right before I upgraded in May 2020.
AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop Processor

It would have taken forever to do 2004 on this old comp. On my new build, it was like 45 mins. And I only have 100/100 internet.
Well i get that you wanted to upgrade, but with that PC you can do gaming no problems maybe even at 4K for some games.
I like to upgrade as well but i mostly do it if i really have to or a game won't really work at all. But if not for gaming then maybe a cheaper 1070 would've been better ? Would've saved some money compared to the 2070.
This build was kind of a freebie. We got those $1200 stimulus checks, and I didn't really need it for anything else, and my FX 8350 comp was already 7+ years old.
I still have it. it's just without a case and power supply right now.
I really like this case. It 100% aluminum, and the entire motherboard tray WITH everything on it...pulls out the back on rails. So then I just put it on a table and 15 mins to change builds.
