Strange Characters display for numbers only

    Hello all,
So I have this odd issue on a users Windows 10 pc. Basically the time and date on the screen displays odd symbols. It however does say the day...spells out Thursday perfectly. This is the screen before you log in. once logged in, when it goes into screen saver mode, the time and date appear as numbers as expected. The 2nd oddity is that I noticed today when deleting some files you know how it'll say deleting 1 mb of 27mb's etc...or what have ytou, well on this users pc, the numbers here appear as symbols as well.

I've reset the system font to the default system font. I've tried changing the system font. I've previously updated the system default font. I've checked for new drivers for the graphics card.

So far no joy. Has anyone seen this with just the numbers? What might be the issue and how can I resolve for the user? Thanks.

I can almost 100% guarantee the system time lost the ":" and is use a tiny little box. Some changes to the default font will do that, really mess things up.

I suggest you reset the defaults back:

Restore Default Font Settings in Windows

And look at this tutorial for changing system fonts (safely )

Change Default System Font in Windows 10

After changing system defaults, a restart is required to take effect. Did you restart?

If you have a recent Restore Point before the first changes were made, you may be able to go back to normal.
