    Hi

    I have Windows 10 1903 on my Laptop and it started showing this Green bar every time I click on "This PC" (as shown below)

    I have Kaspersky Total security with latest updates and it shows no virus/malware nothing.

    @nir2014,

    Normally you would see that bar when a search is in progress. However, in that case you would see a message indicating that a search is in progress. Another reason would be if you configured a folder(s) to be optimized for something like pictures and Windows is in the process of generating thumbnails.

    If you allow this process to finish, does it do again when you open file explorer again even after it has finished?

    I'd suggest that it's having difficulties reading your disks D and / or E.

    Get a disk diagnostic tool from the disks maker[s] and check them both out.

    If their reports are OK then check the disk structures using ChkDsk.

    chkdsk Check Disk - Windows CMD - SS64.com

    Thank you for the reply.

    It's happening "every" time I click in "This PC". Initially i thought it could be with network shares or some sort of it is trying to find. It's also happening to few folders as well. I did not change anything on my laptop recently (except for windows updates).

    Thanks for the reply.

    I have 2nd drive which is PGP encrypted (it has 2 partitions) and NOT accessible via Windows 10 that I'm running. They exist for more than a year and this problem just started recently.

    A quick test could be to disconnect all but C:\ then see if the problem still occurs.

    Try this:

    Select one of the folders where you see the issue. Right-click and select properties. Go to the customize tab. If set to anything other than General items, try changing it to General items and also apply this to subfolders. Click OK.

    See if that helps at all.
