First of all a Big Thank You to "HBHB" an old post but the file "JMB38X SD/MMC Host Controller" fixed a problem with on a friends ASUS laptop after upgrading from 7 to 10.
Tony here; started quite early, first with N.C.R. electro-mechanical banking machines, system 395 and others. Following that a spell with E.A.L. and their analog systems. After that I spent 31yrs with IBM Hardware support for Mid-range, Sensor based systems and Mainframe. Towards the end of my career here we were deployed on just about anything. So, could be a mainframe in the morning a PC for lunch and a large process printer for the afternoon.
I took early retirement and set myself up a small PC support business. I never wanted world domination, just something to keep me busy, help a few folk and pay for my toys.
I properly retired 4yrs ago when we moved to Cornwall, I miss it and have since broken my own rules about taking in work.
For that reason, I doubt I'll be here often but it's great to know this repository of knowledge is here.
    Many thanks,
    Tony

I suspect you may be here more often than you expect. There's a wealth of expertise here, and quite a few questions come from professional IT support looking for a fix for an unusual problem...

Hey all, been a member of the forums for a few days now so I thought I should introduce my self. My name is Clarence and I live in a little one-horse town in middle Tennessee. Quite a few years ago I retired from the Air Force after 20 years and yes, sometimes I still miss it. I just got a new laptop with Windows 10, (always had win 7 and below) so I thought I had better sign up here where there is a lot of help, because I know I am going to need it.
