    Can't get into Safe mode

If I use msconfig at the boot tab, I cannot set any options to get into safe mode.

Also, if I use the Shift / Restart option I do not get the Advanced menu to select more options and Restart.
The only option under Advanced this way is uefi settings.

    Thanks.

Hi, please post a screenshot of your partitions using Minitool Partition Wizard, expanding all columns as necessary so text is visible.
To post a screenshot please use the Insert Image icon above your post.

Please also post a screenshot like this - note the command is from an admin prompt.
    Admin powershell is fine too.

It is possible your recovery environment is not properly associated with Windows. Either you don't have a Win 10 Recovery partition, or it is not enabled, or there is another problem.

Now use the DISKPART command to identify the parameters for a command.

    SELECT DISK 1
    (select your OS disk)

    LIST Part
    (lists the partitions)

Note the disk number and partition number of the Recovery partition. E.g.

    Now use this command
    reagentc /setreimage /path \\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddiskX\partitionY\Recovery\WindowsRE

    replacing X & Y with your numbers.

    Now inspect
    C:\Windows\System32\Recovery
Is there a winre.wim file there?

I followed your commands and there is no winre.wim in the folder specified.
The results of the reagentc command follow

I got out of diskpart and used command prompt as admin and reissued the reagentc command and it said successful.
Looked in windows\system32\Recovery and there is an XML file there called ReAgent with no extension with the time stamp of
    when I issued command.

You issued the reagent command at a diskpart prompt. That was not correct.

You need to do that at a command prompt, not while in diskpart

Please redo the reagent command, then post a screenshot of
    reagentc /info
    - from a command prompt.

You need to create a winre.wim file from your installation medium or an iso.
    This is a bit messy.

Ok, now you need to create winre.wim on your system disk as above. This needs to be present so the command
    reagentc /enable
    can succeed.

While converting the esd file my system hung (which is another issue I was pursuing).

Can I use a recovery.wim from another system?
