Wrong used space and impossible update after reset

    Hi there.

I recently reset my windows install I can't get it up to date anymore.

It is stuck on the Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803, with each percent taking several hours.

A maybe related issue is that the used space seems to wrong as in this screenshot:

I have two systems on my hard drive (a linux and windows) here what it looks like:

So "System and reserved" is roughly the size of what my WHOLE windows should be. It don't know where it thinks those extra Gos are...

My guess is that the updates are stuck because it thinks that my disk is full, which obviously is not the case.

Any clue on fixing it ?

Browse the C: drive and see if you have a folder C:\Windows.old, if so, this is left over from the last major Windows update. Try removing it with Disk Cleanup.
We need a better idea what your drives look like.
Can you attach a screenshot of the Disk Management with the Lower pane showing All of your drives?
As for 1803. download it and burn it to a USB Flash drive, and then boot off of that drive and try installing that way. If that doesn't work try backing up your files and doing a clean install of 1803.

I used the Windows update assistant instead of classic windows update (which was stuck at 86%), it managed to successfully update my machine and solved everything along the way!
One thing to note though is that windows include other non-windows partitions in "system and reserved".

If you post disk management shot members could comment on the partitions you have.

This document outlines the basic partitions in a UEFI Boot system.
