    Search Is Delivering Web Results when told not to


    I have just noticed that Search on my PC is suddenly searching the web. It didn't used to.I had that disabled. I don't use Cortana, so that is disabled. However, it seems that Microsoft in their incredible persistence to get hold of all my data, has enabled web search again. Anyone know how to disable it?
    I tried gpedit, but both search settings are set to disable web searches - yet they still happen.

    Interestingly this has only happened on my two PCs that have win pro on.

    I really think I am going to disable updates soon. I am sick and tired of Microsoft causing fires with their auto updates and insistence that we do things "their way".

    Well I have found a temporary solution and that is to block the supposedly disabled Cortana in the Firewall to stop it making outgoing connections.
    I don't understand, though, why the search was returning web results when it was clearly disabled.
