are asmedia chipset cards for USB inferior to renases chipset cards?

I seem to recall reading on reddit that Renases makes better chipsets (or drivers?) than asmedia for USB cards?

    True? Does it matter?

In looking at random USB 3.0/3.1/type C adapter cards, it's hard to find out which cards use which chipsets.

Maybe others have had different experiences, but I have not had problems with either brand. It's a little hard to quantify unless you've actually run into any issues.

Also, it's a mature technology, so I would hope that any current / recent chipsets would have any glitches worked out by now.
