Drive disappeared completely after deleting volume?

My apologies in advance for being such a neophyte w/ regard to disk management.

I was about to reformat some drives, when I notied the 'delete' option. Thinking this must just be a great preliminary measure before clicking 'format', I deleted the volume on the drive I was about to reformat. Then, the drive just disappeared from my disk management list.

Is there a way to rediscover this drive? Thank you if you can assist!

    P.

Is it an Internet or External USB drive? Have you checked the BIOS [Basic Input Output System] to see if that physical drive is listed? External USB drives won't be listed in the BIOS. The BIOS doesn't work with any Partitions on a drive, those are created by the Operating System or a program that can do it. If not seen there Windows won't see it either. The OS reads the BIOS to see what it has to work with then when that finishes the OS starts loading. And don't discount drives have been known to fail during operation. Also for External drives, it may be good but the interface [printed circuit board] in the case failed, I have one in a computer I rescued because of that.

Figured it out and ty for the answers.
I didn't see it in the top listed drives, but it was at the bottom in the more detailed section showing as an unallocated. I was able to add back a new simple volume and all is well again. Cheers!
