    Nevermind. It's fake. I should have read the reviews first. I wonder why Amazon still has this on their website?

    I posted in a similar thread a year two ago. I even posted a link to a YouTube video where a similar drive was disassembled. You are lucky because it was too late for the poster to return the drive. He disassembled it and found the same thing seen in the YouTube video. Inside was a USB hub with multiple cheap flash drives connected to it. I think the drive showed a total of 8TB but when Windows explorer showed what was four partitions. What was really seen was four individual 2TB flash drives. The final insult was the reported size of 2TB was even fake too. The real size was something like 32GB and the real interface was either USB 1.1 or 2.0. In the end the whole thing ended up in the garbage where it belonged.

    BTW, they actually sell 8TB SSDs but they go for something like $800 US.

    Yeah, that's what the reviews said - there were SDCARDS!

    There are loads of ways to deceive Amazon customers. Just look at this listing for HDD docking stations. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=hard+disk...ocking+station

    Go through a few pages and you will just a few real different products, but they are sold under many different brand names that are made up just for Amazon. Many of these brand names are unpronounceable and unmemorable. (No-No's in real corporate marketing and branding.)

    Or better yet, check out this news item: How Chinese Sellers are Manipulating Amazon in 2022

    There are six million resellers on Amazon, so it's no surprise that Amazon doesn't do a very good job of policing their vendors.

    @x509 -

    I'm not happy with Amazon.

    With the sole exception of minor system build components, I do not buy from 3rd Party sellers originating from China.
    Even then the item has to have Free Returns, otherwise forget it.

    They will sell just about anything and that's bad business, IMHO.

    P.S. I do sell my own small line of Chinese branded computers on Amazon, namely the Compumindao Long March III.
