I can’t delete the driver software for my driver

I'm having trouble connecting to my vpn so I think my wireless adapter drivers are corrupt. I've had this problem before on a previous laptop, and reinstalling the wireless adapters drivers helped, provided the driver was deleted from the computer and the latest version from the computer manufacturer's website was installed.

So I need to uninstall and DELETE my wireless driver from my computer. It should not reinstall itself when I restart.

I can't delete the driver software for a driver from my computer. The delete checkbox is missing.

Below is the expected behaviour of what should appear.

    Des,

I think you'll get better help if you display your diagrams in your post instead of just linking to them.

Underneath your post, you'll see an Edit post link

Click on that then post the diagrams in it.

You can try with Driver Store Explorer - free utility for maintaing the Driver Store in Windows, used by many members in this forum. Light and doesn't require instal. Just be carefull what you tick for deletion.

Yes I know but I was on my phone. I need access to a PC to insert the image. I was going to do that later once I gained access to one.

    I've updated it now.

    Des,

Under normal circumstances, installing the maker's driver should render whatever was there beforehand irrelevant.

If you really need to uninstall the previous driver first then I suggest you try to install the new one straight after uninstalling the old one [without rebooting in between, even if the computer says you should].
    - I have never been in this position but that's what I would try.
    - I would then reinstall the new one [again] after rebooting if the computer had objected at any stage.

Perhaps Windows 10 includes a driver for your network adapter [by default] and that's why it does not want to let you delete anything.
    - Again, I've never been in this position so this is nothing more than a guess.

    Best of luck,
    Denis

At the time of posting, the vpn also didn't work on my iphone and android phone.
The vpn works now. It looks like there was 2 days of downtime, so it wasn't the drivers at all.
However the last time I had a problem with the vpn in 2018, faulty drivers was the problem, as the existing drivers had become corrupt.
