This post may be early. Downloaded Win 10 20H2 iso, installed it on a USB 2 key and as soon as it loads up the installation files, it's looking for a missing driver (media). Switching USB sockets make no difference (and older solution). How can I correct this?

I haven't had to deal with that myself. (Touch wood.) A little Web searching produced an astonishingly wide range of random-seeming solutions.
Have you tried one of the USB 2.0 ports? (Under the Ethernet jack in the rear I/O panel.) That should at least get away from any USB driver issues.

Thanks. I haven't tried a port at the rear of the case, but the same thing happened on a new laptop with v2004. I also spent time on researching the issue and can't believe that MS doesn't know about it, since this existed in prior Windows versions.
Also, it's offered as an upgrade on the 1909 Pro desktop but not on the 2004 Home laptop. I should wait until it's sorted out.
Sounds like the USB media wasn't created correctly, to me. SMH!
A driver-missing error, is an issue I would expect with only 7, because 7 doesn't include USB 3 support.
It doesn't make sense, especially for a very late build of 10!
And laptops are more likely to get blacklisted by Microsoft for upgrade-installs, because of driver issues.

Has a few different ways of doing it.
20H2 was released on Oct 20 and is offered on my Updates and Security Page of the 1909 desktop. Previous attempts to upgrade to, or fresh install of 2004 failed so I abandoned it. (I posted about this previously).
The laptop is W10 Home 2004, but the 20H2 upgrade is not offered on the Updates and Security Page. I tried a fresh install and it failed with the same error. Also switched laptop USB ports but the issue remained.
Now, completed my mirror updates and will attempt to upgrade instead of a fresh install. Just curious.
About June of this year I had trouble with 2004... (failed install), I just did an In-place upgrade.
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade
It repairs as it installs, and is done right from the desktop.
Here is the short version of the In-place upgrade tutorial...
Uninstall non-Microsoft:
a) antivirus software
b) firewall software
c) drive encryption software
Make a full OS backup with a program like Macrium Reflect (free)

Go here and get the Media Creation Tool and save it to your desktop.

RUN the Media Creation Tool and use it to: Create an ISO image... save IT to your desktop.
This will be the latest version of the ISO image.
For older ISO image versions, go here instead...
Download Windows 10 ISO File
Right click the ISO image and choose: MOUNT
Open File Explorer and you will see a new drive letter. It will look like a DVD optical drive.
Double click the new drive letter to open it.
Find setup.exe and double click it to start the in-place upgrade.
Choose the Keep personal files and apps option.
After it's all done... to UNmount the ISO image, right click the new drive letter and choose: EJECT.
The ONLY thing you will lose is some of your personalizations. Your programs and data will be intact.
