A conventional clean install is to unallocated space. Do not try to create its partitions. That's done by the installation process.

    Please see the tutorial.

So before doing anything like that I need to create a partition for my C Drive.
    No you don't.

Please confirm you created your installation medium using the MS media creation tool, or that it's one you've used successfully previously.

Why not delete system and reserved and allow windows to recreate them or perform a clean install by making an unallocated drive?

I have data partitions on this drive. I cannot delete my data.

I cannot perform a diskpart clean on my drive. I need to keep my data partitions. What the hell is the problem if I just install Windows to a damn partition. Seems like a no-brainer.

I have started another thread regarding this over here:

Unable to install Windows due to 2 serperate volumes being marked as C

If you could spare some time.

Just tell me something can I have data partitions on the disk where I am installing Windows 10 ?

I don't to wipe everything on the disk by doing diskpart clean.

I though I had answered that. I will try to be very clear for you.

Imagine a drive with unallocated space and two data partitions. Ok?

Great. You install to the unallocated space. You keep the data partitions. You do not need to delete them.
The installation process creates all partitions necessary for Windows.

Please see the tutorial on clean installing Win 10. Link above.

    To emphasise:
    a. You don't have to wipe the whole disk.
    b. You should delete (step 14 of tutorial) all pre-existing partitions part of a Windows installation.
    c. You can keep other partitions on the disk, provided there's enough contiguous unallocated space to install Windows.

Optionally you can do this: (the title is a bit misleading, especially in your context)

I installed Windows 10 on Partition 1 without touching Partition 2, my data partition, which remained unchanged.

    You certainly don't have to.

If you have free space (~40G) on your current C: partition, you can install win 10 on same partition that you have current windows.
It will create a windows.old folder and move all current files and folders to it.
It is a new install so you will have to reinstall all programs
When you finish installation all your files will be on windows.old folder (and probably also the malware)

My understanding is that clean installation will not create Windows.old because all OS partitions will have been deleted before the installation starts.

I didn't mention a clean install where you delete all partitions.
I said to install on current c: partition

I think almost everyone understood what I meant.
