Printer doesn't work anymore after the last Windows update

    Hi.
I run Windows 10 64 Pro and updated to 1909 build 18363.900): my printer (Brother 165-C) doesn't work anymore.
I restored previous system image and printer works: so printer is ok.

Strange thing: by the system it's just like printer exists and works fine (troubleshooting reports anything, spooler and direct print return no error messages)... but it seemes nothing is transmitted through USB cable (that works fine in restored system copy).

I tried lots of things such as restart spooler service, etc. etc. with ho avail.

Does anybody's got the same issue? Any hint anybody?

Thank a lot for your time, bye.

P.S.: everytime I try to print something, 5 events are triggered: 4 are the same ID 1000 and 1 ID 372.

    Hello @JoeMcLutz,

Just a suggestion, can you please perform the following [ this checks for ANY Problem Device Errors ] . . .

[1] Goto this TenForums link => Batch Scripts / Programs.
[2] Goto the heading Find ANY Problem Devices . . .
[3] Download and Run the .bat file.

If there are ANY Problem Device Errors it will create a Prob_Devices.txt file on the Desktop!

[4] Upload the results => How to Upload and Post Screenshots and Files at Ten Forums.

    I hope this helps!

I notice that the printer is an old model (2009) and the drivers will have been written to suit Windows as it was years ago. As Windows gets updated the ability of your old drivers to communicate with modern Windows becomes unreliable.

Have you tried updating the printer drivers from the Brother website?

Yes, with no avail. Anyway rolling back to previous Windows 10 version everything works fine.
    Thank you.

I am glad that you have resolved the issue using the roll-back method, but to be honest you should not have had to revert to a prior version. There must be a way of achieving this! Perhaps other members have got some thoughts or ideas!

I meant: I rolled back to previous version to diagnose printer/drivers were working correctly; after that I updated again to current version and now I'm waiting for a solution (I think it should come by Microsoft 'cause the issue is due to their update). :)

Perhaps other members have got some thoughts or ideas!
I found a guy that seemingly has the same problem:

    Hello @JoeMcLutz,

I have just had a quick look on the Internet for your Brother 165-C and came across this => Brother 165-C.
It appears that it is capable of running on Win 10!
I expect you have already looked at this?

Yes, of course... I saw this link and I already knew it was capable 'cause my Brother 165-C worked fine with previous version...

uh, I almost forgot that: scanner (Brother 165-C is a printer/scanner) works fine from PC.
