    Bugged keyboard map

I wondering if win10 allows manual fixing of keyboard output errors. I have a Fujitsu Win7 Japanese version and my wife forces me to buy a Fujitsu- they do last 10 years but the current computer gives the wrong symbols for some keyboard keys ie does not match the keyboard's printed text so can I fix it myself easily?

Hi, it depends on your objective to some extent. You can download additional keyboards (i.e. have Windows configured to match typically the language for which your keyboard is designed). I'd guess that's your situation:

Set Default Keyboard Input Language in Windows 10 | Tutorials
Add or Remove Keyboard Layouts in Windows 10 | Tutorials

Otherwise there are keyboard remapper programs around.

Definitely the latter as it is nearly a standard QWERTY type keyboard- it is symbols on QWERTY part of the keyboard that don't work right. The special keys work normally.

Hi, you're discussing Win 7.. so that's one issue.

I'm then wondering what the base language of your OS is, given that you may have acquired this in Japan. If not English, are you using appropriate language packs?

Then are you using an input method editor (IME)?

Perhaps you could provide a photo of your keyboard and anything on the type/model - a picture of the label on the reverse if present, and some examples of keys and the characters produced.

    Thanks.

    Base Language- Japanese.
It doesn't matter for this computer as its lifespan is short and it has multiple other big problems. That is why I asking for Win 10. But given both computers will be Fujitsu and Fujitsu standard everything I expect the problems will continue.

In that case I'd simply suggest you need to get win 10 configured with the appropriate language packs and keyboard as and when you get a new one.
