Go to power options, change your current plan settings, then change advanced power settings, Select sleep, sleep after: Never. Then select Display, turn off display after: Choose the time you want before display goes off or never.
Open a cmd prompt as administrator and type "Powercfg /h off"
Reboot the computer and test that :)
i did that but doesn't show up on restart or when turned on i have to activate on startup apparently
Just to make sure, after you reboot the computer you wait until the Screen savers should kick-in and it doesn't ?
The screen saver won't automatically start at boot, It has to timeout before...
If you want to use your screen saver to lock your machine, you should put a shortcut to it, in your Startup menu, To lock your computer at boot.
so do i need to just leave it then and it should work automatically because i restarted my computer and it didn't appear straight away
Ok, all normal, If you want it to get in right away, just create a shortcut to it in Startup and it will be all good.
You must identify the ".scr" file used, find where it is located, Most of the time \Windows\System32\. Right click, Copy, then paste "shortcut" in \Users\%UserName%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\.
Then the screen saver will start immediately after logon.
if i want to swap to a different screensaver do i need to do the same thing
Oh yes, and delete the old shortcut to the one you want to remove.
