not mean hijacking another person post
but i kinda didnt get what u mean
that lifecycle list = list that microsoft support on the OS right ?
which mean all update/upgrade/patch etc. included in lifecycle
on the page it mention: Last updated: October 2015which is new enough
also mention the * mark windows7 RTM without sp1 ended on April 9, 2013
so for now, its clear that windows10 lifecycle including all new builds/upgrade/update/patch is ended on october 14 2025
except microsoft decide to extend it at later point
I just got a new laptop for side IT work and play. It has 7 Pro on it and I don't plan to upgrade. My Acer Switch is fine with 10 on it but I still love the 7 interface and am so used to it I can use it in my sleep. Besides, my entire company of 400+ machines runs on 7. Business' don't plan to switch anytime soon.
This does kind of make sense that they are doing this though. Every OS once a new one comes out is considered weak and is less likely to have support after a certain point.
how can you sure about it ?
any info backing what your saying that update has it own lifecycle, like saying TH2 update extend W10 EOL to 2026 or even 2027 ?
for me, until microsoft confirmation, plus looking at their previous windows that EOL date seems never got extended after their decide it, its safe to think that W10 support end on Oct 2025
The thing is if Windows 10 is going to be the last Windows ever made than it should not have a end of life date. On the other hand Windows 7 is getting quite old now it makes sense to change but over all Windows 7 ain't bad Ive only used it on a computer at the Red Cross I never had it on a home computer but my parents computer is running windows 7 at the moment I'm the only one with the latest technology for my own computer in this house.
thats what i think
if windows10 dont have EOL, then why microsoft not list it that way ? its good for marketing for sure, everyone like their software get unlimited-lifetime support
but microsoft dont want it that way, well business-wise it dont allow them to do that i believe
for my understanding, even say microsoft will keeping windows10 as the last windows they make, it still dont stop them to rename it
like windows8, they can rename windows10 to 10.1 at certain point of update
also similar to apple OSX, there different codename each major update (tiger . leopard . snowleopard . lion etc)
thus there EOL dated for windows10
anyway i end converstation about EOL in here, people can think different than me regarding it
