Issues booting spinning dots black screen and filesystem corruption.
Windows 10 22h2
Sudden unwarrented filesystem corruption and windows corrupting itself for no reason.
Heres what happened.
Turned off pc for the night. went to bed. slept.
Then woke up this morning. turned my pc on. it seemed to start for a moment. Then it changed from the logo to spinning dots. my mouse cursor appeared on screen.
It didnt seem to be doing anything for a while. so I panicked and held the power button to shut off my pc.
upon rebooting it showed it needed to check disks for corruption and scan and repair them.
i skipped it. disregarding it as an anomoly.
Windows immediately complained about disk errors so I rebooted to let it finish repairing and scanning drive C:
when windows booted finally after fixing the errors.
I went and checked event viewer and it was reported several .log and .txt type files were corrupt or had unknown filesystem errors.
And windows was apparently trying to scan or something my drives on boot and thats where it discovered the first signs of corrupted file system errors.
I'm not sure what to make of this.
I rebooted another time and nothing new has popped up
Crystal disk info is not showing any issues with any of my drives. I have 3 hooked up. Two backup and storage hard drives. and one main drive nvme m.2 ssd
Main ssd/system drive isn't that old.
This is all very mysterious random and confusing.
What would cause corruption overnight while sleeping? Or trigger windows to scan my drives spontaneously?
Should I be worried and be prepared to backup my stuff?
Or is it likely a one-off random occurence?
Did a virus scan. sfc scannow. nothing found anything.
A few texts images and screenshots of some of the things I found.
