Laptop (Lenovo C940) Crashing at Bios - Related to Thunderbolt 3 Dock

I have the Lenovo Thunderbolt 3 Gen 2 dock which I use with my Lenovo C940.

When I put my laptop to Hibernate and try to restart it, the laptop stalls at the Lenovo BIOS Splash screen. I check event viewer and sleepstudy reports and I'm seeing critical errors / bugcheck codes, etc etc etc.

I recently tried unplugging from the lenovo dock, waiting for a few seconds, THEN putting the laptop to hibernate, and turning it back on (so hibernate and back on, all on battery / disconnected from the dock); the same problem occurred. However, it doesn't happen 100% of the time, and if you review the sleep study reports in the attached information, you'll see some successful reactivations from hibernation. I can't quite figure out what's causing it exactly.

I've just tried uninstalling all the Thunderbolt 3 drivers from the computer, but haven't done much troubleshooting after that, before this post.

Argh!
(1) This laptop was manufactured after the release of that BIOS.
(2) Lenovo Vantage (app) and Lenovo's Drivers and Updates website both scanned my computer to check for updates. Both ALWAYS say my laptop is up to date. Of course I don't believe that anymore, so I do my best to check for driver updates. I missed the BIOS because the version number is so close to what I already have..

This seems to have done the trick -- more time will tell for sure, but the first few instances have been okay.

The new BIOS definitely did something to the fingerprint reader though, as sometimes it doesn't react to anything until I log in using some other means. IF I log in, then run a diagnostic on it, or sign out and sign back in again, it works fine.

Following up on this: It seemed to have worked for a couple weeks. It's back to failing at the Bios screen again, if I switch it on/off the docking station... Any further troubleshooting? I'm hoping someone can guide me to obtain some helpful internal error messages that must be occurring when it reaches the boot screen and fails to progress?

It works okay with or without the Dock. It just requires a hard power off once, if I plug it in or unplug it from the Dock when it's in hibernate state. I.e. If I'm using the laptop, plugged into the Dock or not, put it into hibernate state, and I wake it up unplugged or plugged in (opposite of when I put it to sleep) it stalls at the Lenovo boot screen. No loading circle.

If I'm using it on the Dock, and the next time I'm using it I don't have the Dock, what then? The workaround is not viable for a laptop.
