BSOD with no apparent cause on Lenovo Ideapad

    Hey, how's everybody doing?

I've been getting some headaches with my kinda-brand new Lenovo Ideapad S145.

Can't remember when it all started but I've got some BSODs and I've no idea why. I've already tried several times restoring my system(with backup files) and also tried a complete clean-up of the HDD three times. After the most recent clean-up I was able to use the computer for two days straight with no issues, thought that would be the last time, but my mom reported to me that it happened whilst she was working.

    Winver: Version 2004 (19041.264)

Hope these logs can help you guys in helping me out: LAPTOP-A3GKKUN6-(2020-06-05_12-57-55).zip - Google Drive

    Code:
    2: kd> !sysinfo cpuspeed
    CPUID: "Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80GHz"
    MaxSpeed: 1800
    CurrentSpeed: 1992
Remove all over clocking and see how it behaves.

Thank you for the answer; may I ask how to remove it?

I've never actually done OC; not even sure how it works, read about it but no actual knowledge. Maybe this is something built into the CPU? If so, there's some way around it?

I k=looked at the Users Manual and there is no mention of over clocking or Turbo mode so I don't know why it show you are running 200Mhz faster that the CPU supports. I'm not much of a hardware guy so hopefully one of the others can help with this.

Neither dump has anything else that helps ID the problem. Please copy 05/06/2020 12:01:01 838,38 C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP to another location then zip it and upload to OneDrive or GoogleDrive and post a link to it in this thread so we can look at it. Maybe it will have more info that will help. Maybe not also but worth taking the time to upload it.

Up through DDR3, follow this tutorial: MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 10 Forums
DDR4, follow this tutorial: MemTest86 v8.1 Free Memory Testing Tool Review

Both of these are diagnostic tools designed to test Random Access Memory (RAM) for faults. They will verify that:
    • RAM will accept and keep random patterns of data sent to it
    • There are no errors when different parts of memory try to interact
    • There are no conflicts between memory addresses

They run from bootable media to isolate the RAM from the system, no other components are taken into account during the test.

    warning   Warning
MemTest86+ and Memtest86 need to run for at least 8 passes to be anywhere near conclusive, anything less will not give a complete analysis of the RAM. The new version of Memtest86 only allows 4 passes for the free version so run it twice, back to back.

If you are asked to run MemTest86+ or Memtest86 by a Ten Forums member make sure you run the full 8 (or 4+4) passes for conclusive results. If you run less than 8 passes you will be asked to run it again.

    Note   Note
Both of these diagnostics has been known to discover errors in RAM in later passes than the eighth pass. This is for information only; if you feel there is a definite problem with the RAM and 8 passes have shown no errors feel free to continue for longer.

Running 8 passes of MemTest86+ or 4+4 passes of Memtest86 is a long and drawn out exercise and the more RAM you have the longer it will take. It's recommended to run it overnight, starting just before you go to bed and leave it overnight.

Take a picture when done and post in the forum please.

I tried one last clean install maybe a week ago and had no issues ever since but once again, the BSOD has returned to haunt me; same as usual, IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL caused by ntoskrnl.exe

The log files are in a non-english language and some can not be analyzed. Please change the system language to English and post a new log collector zip. Use the V2 log collector shown in the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions link as it collects more information than the standard collector.

Add, Remove, and Change Display Language in Windows 10
How To Change Language In Windows 10 Operating System - YouTube

You can put the language back to normal once done though you may have to do this multiple times if we need you to run the log collector script again in the future. Won't help with data that's already collected but newly generated data will be in English which can help.

    Event logs especially.

    Thanks

Also, for memtest86. please run the test for 4 passes twice 4 by 4. Looks like you ran them one for 4 passes but I may be mis-reading the htlp logs.

The dumps aren't telling me anything useful, though the full dump showed igdkmd64 was active for a long time right before the BSOD occurred. This is part of your Intel HD Graphics Drivers. You can try uninstalling then downloading and installing the latest available driver.

Thank you for the quick answer! As for memtest, I must've ran it at least 4 times b2b with no errors found, these logs are the ones I've saved just cause had no idea that was possible before..

The Windows ver. that comes with my laptop is Home Single-lang. Any way to change this?

Will try to uninstall Intel UHD driver and install again as asked. Cheers!

I've tried yet another clean install, this time changed the OS lang. to make the debugging easier; 5 crashes over the course of 1 week and still no clue what may be causing these BSOD's: most of the time the system flags ntoskrnl.exe as being the issue for different types of bcc

The dumps are just not telling me what the cause is.

Also see 408 of these for different files.
