This thread's intent was originally to post only updates to Macrium Reflect. Problems with it can be posted in say the General Support section or in this section, in a NEW thread. Every time I see a post here, I think that there is a new MR Update.
except when there's a problem caused by an MR update.

No that can be placed in it's own thread.

If that is done mention should be made of it here as a warning of potential problems.

Well I just looked at the Firefox update Thread and at least it is pinned. But there are troubles being reported in that thread as well, seems like users just post where they want. Whatever.

Seeing how I am the thread starter, and that I carried this thread carried over from Eight Forums, let me chime in.

First about this "it's just to notify of updates" crap..... horse hockey!

If all one wants to do is be notified about updates, Macrium will do that in the taskbar, or you can do a daily check by clicking the globe icon in Macrium New Macrium Reflect Updates [2]-image.png

Or even check at Major Geeks.

Have you noticed how many posts of you and replies to them this your complaint has taken? If you have something to complain, report the post, do not start an unnecessary discussion.

The flipside to that is you get to see issues with new MR releases in one place (which I prefer as a M.O).
I'd agree that issues that aren't release based should be separate threads, but then many less experienced posters don't know that until at least a partial diagnosis is undertaken here by the more experienced...

Maybe a poll on a per board basis could be displayed as a pinned post at the top, reflecting that boards general wishes around the breadth of the 'problems allowed' remit?
First, let me say that TenForums is a well set up and smooth operation and serves its membership well. We have an administrative staff working within TenForums, that takes care of day-to-day running of the site. What this means is that if there are problems within the site, Admin is quite capable of handling them.

For instance, if a person posts a problem about an installation problem in the General Support Forum, Admin will step in and move the post to the Installation and Upgrade Forum. This is not only to avoid confusion, but also to help the original poster (OP) get the answer s/he needs.

Let’s take Create Bootable USB Flash Drive to Install Windows 10 in the Tutorials Forum; there are 42 posts, including the original tutorial, in that thread. It only makes sense that someone having trouble with this tutorial post their question in the thread.

Likewise, the UUP to ISO - Create Bootable ISO from Windows 10 Build Upgrade Files thread contains 132 posts, including the original tutorial. Again, it only makes sense that someone having trouble with this tutorial post their question in the thread.

We have several threads on updating various programs used by a majority of TenForums membership. Two that come to mind are Macrium Reflect and Firefox, both of which give very little trouble. There are announcements for nightly builds, beta builds, release candidates and final builds for Firefox. Updates can, and sometimes will, cause things to go awry. Again, it only makes sense to post the problems an update causes within the thread.

Admin hasn’t told us we can’t post our unforeseen problems to these threads. If we weren’t supposed to, we would have been told. Further, we as members of TenForums can and do suggest posting a problem to a proper forum if it’s too much off topic or if we think the OP will get more attention for his/her problem.

Admin has us covered; polls really aren’t necessary to keep TenForums running in the smooth and uneventful manner it always has done.

It's very well administered and very free (to write) forum and that makes it very friendly and educative. Last few days I had a acrid "discussion" with admins and moderators of a domestic forum where administration tries to moderate every word brought in sanctions like negative points and suspension for any off topic word or statement or any infraction a moderator doesn't like. I tried to show them how a forum can be run by pointing them to this and all associated forums but to no avail. They declared it "anarchy" and wouldn't budge so I quit it after some 12 years of contribution.
