Slow Laptop

Hi. I've got an Elitebook 8570p with Win 10 pro. Version 1909. It has a 240GB SSD. It behaves beautifully fast when there are no programs on it. The moment I have installed Firefox, a couple of utility programs and a Word Processor, everything slows way down. It takes over two minutes to load Firefox and a website. It takes more than two minutes to load a document in the Word Processor. Even Windows Explorer takes time. What causes such a change in behavior? Thanks in advance for any help.

For comparison are you able to clean install Windows 1909? 20H1 (2004) or 20H2 (2009)

Clean Install Windows 10
Refresh Windows 10

Thanks for the reply. But I can clean install. That's what I had just done, a day ago. It's after I added programs that the problem started. Don't know what you mean by 20H1 and 20H2. Also, I have no BSOD either.

Thanks, Ztruker. Since I posted this entry it updated to Version 10.0 (Build 10240).

Microsoft is using new nomenclature.

Windows upgrades currently occur twice per year.

The prior Windows versions were: 1511, 1607, 1703, 1709, 1803, 1809,1903, 1909, 2004, 2009

Instead of using 03 or 09 which correspond to the month Microsoft is now using H1 and H2.

H1 is the year's first half.
H2 is the year's second half.

2004 > 20H1
2009 > 20H2
2103 > 21H1
2109 > 21H2

This way end users won't pay attention to the timeliness of the upgrade.
If 2103 no longer exists the 21H1 allows the release anytime before July 01, 2021.

Ok, but obviously my version is not numbered like that, since it's a straight 10.0
