Installation failed in SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT on Acer

    Hi,

Trying to clean install Windows 19 an Acer Swift 7 laptop. Got this error when using the media creation tool, everything in windows (not USB/DVD/ISO):
Installation failed in SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation. 0xC1900101 – 0x20017

Any ideas? The laptop CPU is intel 7th gen, and TPM is not enabled I think, so cannot install Windows 11 normally.

Before this, I did try to reset the PC using the BSOD options, but failed. It keeps login in so I just press Esc and F10

The error message 0xc1900101 occurs when there is a roll back during a failed Windows upgrade.

During a clean install all partitions are deleted making an unallocated drive.

Then a fresh version of Windows is installed.

    These are for clean install:

What are the status of the important computer files?

Did you need to save important files or are they already saved to another disk drive or the cloud?

Did you need to maintain drivers and / or applications?

Please indicate the problems that you are having and indicate whether you want to upgrade or clean install.

    Windows 19
? Ok, you mean Win 10.

Then you say clean install, but report error 0xC1900101 – 0x20017.

    I don't think you're doing a clean install.

A clean install starts with you booting from the installation medium.

It is NOT started after you've logged in.

Have you checked for any BIOS updates before updating?

So I need to make a media creation tool?

I would certainly check for any BIOS updates & if available update the BIOS, then try installing Windows again.
