Win10 reset - new sys SSD

I'm interested in doing a full wipe/reset of my win10 desktop, following the tutorials here.

I also really want to replace/upgrade my main system disk, which is an old 120GB SSD, to a new 1 or even 2 TB SSD.

I'm wondering what the best process is to do this, with respect to the Win10 license I paid for years ago, but for which I have no idea where or how to find proof of ownership.

Should I do a reset first, then move the fresh system to the new larger SSD somehow? Or is there a way to build / download Win10 install media based on my existing system, then just put the new SSD in place of the old one and do a fresh install on the new SSD? This would seem to be the easiest and simplest way, but not sure how or if it's possible.

    Thanks!

Its best to goto MS and get the free iso and let windows write it to usb. Goto settings / update and security /activation does it say active via ms account is doing a clean install will work fine and activate if it asks for key skip it

Thanks. Also, does this process embed the license/activation into the iso? Or do I need to find my activation code from years ago?

    These links may be useful:

Create Bootable USB Flash Drive to Install Windows 10

    Download Windows 10 ISO File

    Clean Install Windows 10

    After the Windows clean install:

Install drivers displayed on the computer or motherboard or component manufacturer websites.

Make free backup images and save to another disk drive or the cloud.

Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect

With a backup image of the Windows 10 installation you can clean install Windows 11 for a test drive and then restore the Windows 10 image.
